Dr. Nor Surilawana Sulaiman is a Lecturer in Halal Management at the Faculty of Halal Science and Sustainable Tourism (FHaSST), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Brunei Darussalam. She currently serves as Head of the Undergraduate Programme and At-Tamayyuz Coordinator at FHaSST for the 2025/2026 academic year. She holds a PhD in Halal Science (Halal Management) from UNISSA and a Master of Muamalat Administration (Halal Products) from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). In recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, she received the Dato’ Dr Abdul Halim Special Award at USIM’s 13th Convocation Ceremony in 2015. She also participated in the Student Mobility Programme at the Halal Product Research Institute (HPRI), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in 2019. Her research focuses on halal certification, halal management, and the broader halal industry. Beyond academia, Dr. Nor Surilawana is actively involved in innovation and community engagement initiatives, promoting awareness of halalan thayyiban principles and food safety among the public, particularly children and youth.
