Mr Kamarul Bahrin is an award-winning Malaysian journalist with over 30 years of experience in media, widely recognised for his commitment to amplifying public voices and reporting on issues affecting society. He has served in leading Malaysian media organisations including the New Straits Times, TV3, Cyberjaya.tv, and Astro Awani, covering a broad range of topics such as youth empowerment, socio-economic inclusion, progressive politics, technology governance, and sustainability. A native of Perlis, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting from Universiti Sains Malaysia. His last full-time role was as Editor-in-Chief and talk show anchor at Astro Awani. Since 2021, he has worked as a media professional on a freelance basis, focusing on emceeing, moderation, media training, and creative content development. He also serves the nation as a Senior Associate of the Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), contributing to initiatives that bridge industry, government, and innovation.
