Dr Mian Muhammad Nadeem Riaz IFANCA Professor of Food Diversity Texas A&M University (USA)
Dr. Mian N. Riaz is the Associate Department Head and IFANCA Professor in Food Diversity in the Department of Food Science and Technology at Texas A&M University, USA. With over 34 years at the university, he is internationally recognised for his expertise in food processing, extrusion technology, food diversity, and halal food production. He has authored seven books, including the widely used Halal Food Production and the Handbook of Halal Food Production (2019), both regarded as key references in academia and industry. His publications have been translated into several languages and are used worldwide. Dr. Riaz teaches Religious and Ethnic Foods, helping students understand the cultural and religious dimensions of the global food industry. His numerous accolades include the International Food Security Award (2023), the Dean’s Outstanding Achievement Award for International Impact (2023), and election as a Fellow of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) in 2025.
